About the Department of Humanities
The Department is committed to using the humanities as a coherent model for examining human society. It is dedicated to the university’s general university requirements (GUR) as a forum for undergraduate students to learn the value of humanistic education. Courses in composition, cultural history, literature, history, philosophy, STS (science, technology, and society), and technical writing are designed to increase the communication skills of NJIT undergraduate students, while simultaneously deepening their understanding of the global culture of the 21st century.
