Communication & Media and STS Graduates

Communication specialists are sought in a wide range of industries for positions in such areas as journalism, technical writing, e-commerce and web content development, multimedia presentation design, publishing, advertising, graphics, digital media development, theater, and video production.

Opportunities for technical writers and writers with expertise in areas such as law, medicine, or economics are expected to increase because of the continuing expansion of scientific and technical information and the need to communicate it to others.

STS alumni attend medical, law or business graduate programs. Others go into businesses as diverse as environmental remediation to marketing and management. Still others engage in governmental, public policy, NGO administration or academia.

Theatre Arts and Technology Graduates

A degree in Theatre Arts and Technology is designed as a stand-alone or as a double major with any other field of study offered at NJIT.  The job possibilities cover areas from performing arts and arts development to the career opportunities offered by the additional major, or a combination of both.   By using the combined degrees, some career possibilities are:  Software Engineer, Story Artist, Theme Park Animator,  Technical Director, Producer, Entertainment Technician, Graphic Artist, Designer, traditional theatre areas of work, just to name a few.
