Career opportunities abound for communication graduates.
Students can enjoy the growing entertainment arts industry and gain access to professionals through coursework, internships and teaching. Communication specialists are sought in a wide range of industries for positions in such areas as journalism, technical writing, e-commerce and web content development, multimedia presentation design, publishing, advertising, graphics, digital media development, theater, and video production.
Opportunities exist for internships, which enable students to develop and apply their knowledge and skills in corporate and government settings.
Opportunities for technical writers and writers with expertise in areas such as law,medicine, or economics are expected to increase because of the continuing expansion of scientific and technical information and the need to communicate it to others. According to a recent Money magazine/Salary.com article on CNNMoney.com, technical writer is the thirteenth-best job in America right now.
