The Freshman Intensive Courses are designed for first-year students who demonstrate a need for additional academic preparation in selected skills and subject areas. In the Humanities Department, a two-semester course sequence, HSS 099 - HSS 100, Reading, Writing, Speaking, fulfills the General University Requirement in English. All students taking these courses receive intensive instruction, individualized attention, tutoring and advising to ensure increased achievement and personal success as they pursue their educational objectives at NJIT and prepare for careers as professionals.
