Who can enter the poetry competition?
- Any NJIT undergraduate student
What are the submission guidelines?
- A maximum of four original poems, totaling no more than six pages.
- If more than one poem is submitted, each one must begin on a separate page.
- Entries will be accepted in hard copy only. The author’s name, NJIT student ID and NJIT e-mail address should appear on a separate cover sheet.
What are the entry dates?
- Entries can be submitted to the Humanities Department Main Office (Cullimore 431) during regular business hours between Monday January 7, 2008 and Friday, March 28, 2008.
Who will judge the competition?
- A panel of Humanities Department faculty will convene to serve as a jury and award prizes. It reserves the right to withhold any award if it decides that there are insufficient submissions.
Prizes:
- FIRST: $100
- SECOND: $75
- THIRD: $50
*Enid Dame –poet, writer, teacher, editor, colleague and friend was a lecturer in Humanities at New Jersey Institute of Technology from 1995-2003. She taught Composition, Creative Writing, and the Bible as Literature among other subjects.
